Eugenia Sotelo LCSW
The Heart Behind Sunflower Wellness Services
I was born in Mexico and raised in both the United States and a small village in Mexico shaped by many people and experiences along the way. Faith, family, and friendships have been my greatest strengths, providing me the resilience needed to adapt to the new challenges faced in a new culture.
I began college with the intention of becoming a teacher, but once I stepped into my first social work class, I realized it aligned deeply with my values. Loving people, helping others grow, and showing compassion. That moment confirmed my calling to walk alongside others in their healing and growth, supporting others to reach their full potential.

For more than a decade I have dedicated my work to supporting individuals and families through lifeβs challenges. While much of my career has been devoted to children and family work, in recent years my focus has shifted to supporting adults in building healthier, more fulfilling lives. My experience consists of community mental health, schools, and private practice, working with people from a wide range of backgrounds. I specialize in helping adults who are navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, and ADHD.
My therapeutic approach is warm and collaborative, drawing from evidence-based practices like EMDR, CBT, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, PCIT, and a strengths-based perspective.
Outside of work, I find joy in cooking, hiking, reading, chasing waterfalls, and spending time with family and friends. These experiences help me stay grounded and bring balance to my work as a therapist. And finally, I love spending time with my dog.
